Good stuff. Spock's floundering, McCoy's empathy and grit, the little moment of breakthrough, all are excellently drawn here. Best of all, McCoy travels an emotional arc from the beginning of this interlude, starting with his affection and compassion, his need to be himself with all the emotional bluntness that entails so that Spock could find something of himself in their interactions, and ending with that moment of happiness and hope when Spock makes a connection.
Your piece helps shed light on what it may have been like for Spock in the aftermath of Fal-Tor-Pan, and just how much work it would take to recover – as in all things, with a little help from his friends. Nicely done, AN. ::clapping::

Oh, I'm so glad that gave you a nice feeling. Why not? I've got the ability to give my opinion with my membership subscription, so I want to take advantage of it. It's good mental exercise, lol. Which I know I don't get enough of! Hey, if you ever feel so inclined, return the favor. I had to go beg for a critique from some kid in the forums because no one seems to want to do any kind of official analysis. Ha, who do I have to **** to get an opinion? :lmao: Okay, that was crude.

I enjoy your writing and I'll give more love when something specific moves me...

Ha :D I'll have a go at some critiquing - I always feel a little awkward, having come out of four years of essentially critiquing stuff for my degree/MA - I have to put a different hat on, then I'm afraid people will think I'm being pompous or arrogant or mean or something... But over Christmas, with the benefit of my parents' internet connection, I'll have a go :D
